Typical Uses
- Strobe/flash triggers
- Wireless transmitter triggers (PocketWizard, etc.)
- External device triggers
- Relay control
Some vintage flash units have trigger voltages exceeding 200V. These require an isolation adapter or modern wireless trigger to protect the WOLF ONE outputs.

Typical Uses
- Arc Eye Handheld Controller
- Foot pedals
- Wired remote triggers
- Custom trigger circuits
Button Behavior
- On daisy-chained systems, buttons on any node trigger all nodes
HowlNET Ports (IN/OUT)
Connector: RJ45
Purpose
Daisy-chain multiple WOLF ONE nodes into a synchronized network.
Connection Rules
- Connect HowlNET OUT of one WOLF to HowlNET IN of the next WOLF
- First node in the chain is the Director
- Subsequent nodes nodes are Listeners
- The Director node connects to USB for computer control
Specifications
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Protocol | HowlNET over RJ45 |
| Maximum Cable Length | 100m (328 ft) per system |
| Maximum Nodes | 32 |
Cable Requirements
Recommended Cables:
| Cable Type | Maximum Length | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cat5e / Cat6 | 100m (328 ft) | Shielded 24AWG |
Use standard Ethernet cables. Do NOT use crossover cables. HowlNET uses standard Ethernet cables but with a proprietary protocol. Do not connect HowlNET ports to standard Ethernet switches or routers.
DC Power Port
Connector: 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel jack
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Voltage | 24V DC |
| Current | 2.5A maximum |
| Polarity | Center positive |
Power Distribution
When nodes are daisy-chained via HowlNET, power is distributed through the network:
- Connect 24V adapter to the first node only
- Power flows through HowlNET cables to all nodes
- Each node consumes 1W idle, 1.6W peak, 2W maximum
USB Type-C Port
Connector: USB Type-C
Functions
- Power Input: 5V USB power for single-node operation
- Configuration: USB communication with Leash app
- Firmware Updates: Flash new firmware via Leash app
Box Buttons
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Wake | Activate camera auto-focus |
| Trigger | Activate Effect (trigger cameras) |
Button Behavior
- On daisy-chained systems, buttons on any node trigger all nodes
